As well as using the seashore ID guides there are good on-line databases where you can look up the species you find in your marine metre square survey area.  Check out the Marine Life database, and also iNaturalist.

You may enter your Mm2 data on the Marine Metre Squared website, and also record the species you find on the iNaturalist site.

If you need expert help to identify species you have found in your marine metre square, the iNaturalist community can help!

Do you have an interesting tale to share from your Marine Metre Squared project? Email us and we'll add it to our community stories.
